Perinatal psychology- Pregnancy and the process of childbirth at new motherhood require major physical and psychological adaptation for women in addition to the pathway of development from embryo to foetus to neonate to infant has the potential to exert critical influence on the mental and physical health of the new individual throughout their life. Psychology has generated new understanding or these processes that are relevant to the mental health of both mother and their children. Many environmental factors can damage the foetus and interfere with normal patterns of growth, such factors are known as teratogens and their impact can be devastating. In Mahabharata when Subhatra was pregnant Arjuna told her the secret of entering The Chakravyuga when he was explaining the exit procedure Subhatra fell asleep. Hence Abhimanyu learned the entrance procedure while he was in Subhatra’s womb and he never had the chance to learn the exit strategy. There was a time when people criticized this concepts of a child learning from womb of a mother, but further scientific development has made things very clear and modern psychology says that it is very much possible.
Hand-eye coordination is the ability of the vision system to coordinate the information received through the eyes to control, guide, and direct the hands in the accomplishment of a given task, such as handwriting or catching a ball. Hand-eye coordination uses the eyes to direct attention and the hands to execute a task.Vision is the process of understanding what is seen by the eyes. It involves more than simple visual acuity (ability to distinguish fine details). Vision also involves fixation and eye movement abilities, accommodation (focusing), convergence (eye aiming), binocularity (eye teaming), and the control of hand-eye coordination. Most hand movements require visual input to be carried out effectively. Hypertonia, a condition marked by an abnormal increase in muscle tension and a reduced ability of a muscle to stretch. Whatever their origin may be, movement disorders almost always prevent the normal development of hand-eye co-ordination. Drupada arranged a swayamvara for Draupadi's marriage in the Panchala court. At the centre of the court a pole was erected over which there was a revolving wheel. On the wheel was a wooden fish. At the bottom of the pole there was a pan of water. The one, who could shoot an arrow at the eye of revolving fish while looking at its reflection in the water below, would marry Draupadi. This was the condition for the swayamvara. Princes from all over assembled for the swayamvara. The Pandavas who were at that time living as Brahmins were also present. Duryodhana, Karna, and Shri Krishna were also present. As the Swayamvara began, many brave princes tried to win the hand of Draupadi, but failed to perform the difficult task of shooting the fish's eye. When Karna came forward to show his skill, Draupadi stopped him and said, "I will not marry a charioteer's son." Insulted, Karna left the court. When all the princes were unsuccessful in performing the feat, Drupada became worried about the marriage of his daughter. Suddenly, Arjuna dressed as a Brahmin rose to try the feat. Nobody was able to recognise him. All the princes objected to the participation of a Brahmin in a competition that was meant for them, but looking at the build and confidence of the Brahmin, no one dared to say anything. Arjuna easily shot the fish's eye. Draupadi was very happy and she put the wedding garland around Arjuna's neck.
Fantasy, a deception of a "genuine" tangible upgrade—that is, a translation that negates objective "reality" as characterized by broad understanding. Maya (otherwise called maya danav or just mayasur) was one such evil spirit who was an expert specialist, a builder,a engineer second to none. He was saved as he offered his administrations to Pandavas. He developed an astounding castle lobby for Arjuna's senior sibling Yudisthira at Indiraprastha which came to be known as Mayasabha. It was the focal space of that royal residence. It had numerous specialities, for example, profoundly intelligent floors that were effectively mixed up as the outside of a pool of still water. There was additionally no less than one pool of water, the outside of which copied an enlivened floor, into which Duryodhana fell, and he was provoked and embarrassed by Draupadi.
Libido is a term used by in psychoanalytic theory to describe the energy created by the survival and sexual instincts.According to Sigmund Freud, the libido is part of the id and is the driving force of all behavior. While the term libido has taken on an overtly sexual meaning in today's world, to Freud it represented all psychic energy and not just sexual energy. Pandu was cursed by a saint that he will die if he had sexual intercourse but due to his urge he loses his consciousness and he involved in sexual activity which was the reason for his death.
The instinct theory of Freud (1927) is said to be the starting point, but not the corner stone of psychoanalysis. Aggression develops as a reaction to frustration of basic urges experienced during early childhood period. Relational aggression is defined as a type of aggression that is "intended to harm others through deliberate manipulation of their social standing and relationships". Relational aggression, according to Daniel Olweus is a type of bullying. Bullying in general, is defined as physically or psychologically violent re-occurring and not provoked acts, where the bully and victim have unequal physical strength or psychological power. These key conditions apply to all types of bullying: verbal, physical and relational.Bhismar was very caring and affectionate towards Bhima when they came from forest after Pandu's death. Dhuriodhana couldn't tolerate it which later developed into relational aggression.
Observational learning, method of learning that consists of observing and modeling another individual’s behavior, attitudes, or emotional expressions. Although it is commonly believed that the observer will copy the model, American psychologist Albert Bandura stressed that individuals may simply learn from the behavior rather than imitate it. Observational learning is a major component of Bandura’s social learning theory. He also emphasized that four conditions are necessary in observing and modeling behavior: attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation. The student Eklavya wanted to learn archery and approached Dronacharya for the same. However due to various reasons, Dronacharya refused to mentor him. Eklavya returned home and made a statue of Dronacharya and started practicing on his own. The statue of Drona constantly reminded him of the heights he wished to achieve and propelled him to work hard. Needless to say, Eklavya reached the pinnacle surpassing Arjun, Dronacharya’s beloved student whom he had promised to make the best in the world. One day Arjun happened to meet Eklavya and realized that there are better archers than him in the world. Curious and perhaps with little disappoint, Arjun inquired Eklavya about his Guru. Eklavya took Arjun to the statue of Drona where he used to practice. This made Arjun envious who immediately ran to his master Drona and reminded him of his promise to make Arjun the best in the world. Looks like Eklavya had better honors than being the best archer waiting for him, Drona met Eklavya and assessed his skills that were certainly much superior to those of Arjun.Drona asked Eklavya how did he learn it. Eklavya replied that he learnt by observing Drona when he taught Arjun.
Bhagavat gita is a source of counselling process and defined emotional intelligence and it is very important in the management of education. It has been reported that intelligent quotient and technical skills are also relevant, but they are more important as entry level requirements. Yet it does not ensure success, if one is low at emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence includes components like self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills. Arjun, the student who had considered to be the unconquerable warrior lost his courage, before the array of enemy soldiers due to confusion is the typical example of the individual facing difficult problem. Arjun himself says that he doesn't know what is right and what is wrong. His question is how to select the right path of action for his confusion. The counselling was provided by Shri Krishna through Bhagavat Gita.
Altruistic behavior-Karna was a generous person who always gives everything to the people who seek him for offerings and he was born with "Golden earrings and the breastplate" that was attached to his body naturally but during the kurkshektra war Arjuna asked breastplate as charity, only then Arjun can defeat Karna.Yet generous karna without a second thought offered his charity to Arjuna and ended his life.
Psychology may be a recently developing field of science but its evolution started, when began their life on earth.
